DAVID MADDOX (Composer & Sound Designer) is in his second season with The Shakespeare
Theatre. He has designed more than 75 productions, including the acclaimed NEVER
THE SINNER at the Houseman Theater in New York; SIDE MAN at the Guthrie; LA MALINCHE
at the Arizona Theater Company; THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE at the Alley Theater;
NIJINSKY'S LAST DANCE at Signature Theater in Washington, D.C., for which he won
a 1999 Helen Hayes Award. NIJINSKY will be remounted in August at the Kennedy
Center. As a composer he has created four musicals commissioned by Theater of
the First Amendment as well as two dance-theatres commissioned by the Kennedy
Center. David has received 13 Helen Hayes Award nominations and produced six albums
of original music, including the award-winning Original Cast Albums of the family
musicals SING DOWN THE MOON and PERSEUS BAYOU.
